For those who are interested what I did in my college senior year, my master thesis is An Empirical Study of Deep Learning for Guided Painting Generation and Hypernym Extraction from Text

I’m not especially proud of this piece, especially after seeing so many high quality works of other researchers. I always feel that there might be something that I could’ve done better. Maybe I should have played less boardgames and started doing research in my freshman year? Or maybe I should have stayed at libraries longer to really understand the word2vec and glove paper?

But as I stated in the thesis, I am especially grateful to Prof. Downey who accepted me into his lab when I was still a Material Science major and who showed me the fascinating world of Machine Learning research. I am also grateful to friends who gave me their full support.
