Comment: 

This book is different from the other science fiction books I’ve read so far. If every sci-fi has a core, then the core of this book is how to preserve a single heritage over millions if not billions of years. And if you look at things on that scale, then not a whole lot of things matter anymore. 

Another thing I like about this book is the insights that are sprinkled throughout the book – the way it depicts story-cube (a rudimentary AI), and may other topics that I will not go over to save you from spoilers. Definitely worth a read.
