It was recommended to me by a friend. I heard it was a SciFi novel, so I read it. It turned out to be completely not the case… It describes a girl who suffers from terminal illness and one of her classmate discovered her illness by accident. The boy was usually silent and unwelcomed in the class. The girl was the opposite. By sharing the secret, their life has been changed.

 

The core message of this book was that death can be very powerful, and can change people completely. (Kind of like the last episode of Code Geass). However the girl did not do that on purpose, unlike Lelouch.

 

I found the ending utterly disappointing however. (Spoiler Alert!!!)

The way the girl died and how the boy just accepted it was totally not understandable to me. How after all those experience can he just accept that fact and acted like she died of natural cause?

There’ll be a movie coming about about this novel. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this novel. Maybe I am too old for the plot, but it did not ring inside me.
