Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are Made

4/5

An easy read if you’re into games. It gives you an overview of the game industry through case studies. On one hand there are the best seller games where one is always marching towards a deadline. On the other hand there are indie games where small studios focuses on a niche market, or sometimes a yet non-existent market purely out of love for games. After reading this book, it will become clear why the game industry are now gearing towards gambling like mechanisms in order to survive and make money. Hopefully this may change some day.
